Day 7

My goal for the day is 1,000 kcal or less.

How well have I done?
  •  Selection of raisins infused with pineapple juice -- approx. 110 kcal.
  • Greek style yoghurt -- approx. 134 kcal.
  • Pineapple juice -- approx. 125 kcal.
  • Two slices of brown bread with butter & chorizo -- approx. 360 kcal.
  • Melon and grape selection -- approx. 64 kcal.
  • Granny Smith apple -- approx. 80 kcal.
  • One scoop of ice cream in a cone -- approx. 200 kcal.
  • Salad (same as yesterday) -- 120 kcal.

Total for today: 1193 kcal.

So, I went over again today because of the ice cream. Damn you Natalie! I felt like I needed some food though, because I'd been revising all day and it made my brain hurt. Tomorrow will hopefully be better! I can smell a BBQ right now, though... :(

  1. Have you looked for anything about PCOS and dairy products? It's a hormone-related disorder, right? I'd think dairy would be like the worst possible thing to have...

And it worries me you're barely eating any veggies. You can't live on peaches & cream alone. :gonk:

  2. Apparently it's worse for me to have stuff like bread and pasta than dairy (and I can't cut them both out at once or I don't think I'll manage...)

I haven't been shopping yet, because I'm waiting for my student loan to come through. All I have is a bit of fruit, and the few salad bits that haven't yet gone rotten. Luckily my loan will come through soon so I'll be able to buy food. XD

  3. Wow. I always thought nothing was worse than dairy. (Even though I still eat cheese. X_X ) Then again, most of the world still thinks dairy/meat is healthy and carbs are the devil, so... o_<

Is it all grains or just processed stuff like bread/pasta that are bad?

    Food is good. XD

  4. Well, I think it's -mostly- the processed stuff, but apparently it's also meant to be a good idea to limit other grains. As in, limit them so much you might as well not bother buying that loaf of bread because you won't eat it all.... :gonk:

I booked an appointment with my doctor for next week to see if there's anything he can tell me that I don't already know (I don't hold high hopes; last time I asked a doctor about PCOS he had to look it up on the internet while I was in the room).

So, here's to hoping that I get a doctor who actually knows something about marginally deviant female biology. x____x

  5. I think bread counts as processed anyway. XD I meant like could you eat oatmeal, rice, quinoa, or 'hot cereal' stuff.

I don't trust doctors about anything related to diet (or about most things in general...) but maybe the UK is better than here. Still, it's probably better to find books by experts or other people who have it. Than at least you know when your doctor's being an idiot. XD

  6. I think even stuff like wholegrain rice is supposed to be limited, but I don't think a little would be bad considering the fact that otherwise I'd have nothing to eat. XD

I hate doctors with a fiery passion, but I've heard about the drug Metformin which they give to diabetics and some PCOS suffers to help their bodies produce more insulin or something. I thought maybe something like that might help me? If not, I want to make sure, for definite, that I'm insulin resistant.

  7. You stopped posting. Did I scare you from blogging that fast? XP Which reminds me that my own little blog is so neglected, but I've got nothing to really post...

I keep meaning to eat less storebought bread because I've heard its healthier to make homemade, but I'm lazy. D=

I hope the drug does turn out to be useful for you. =3

  8. I haven't been scared away! My boyfriend came to stay for the weekend, and we kinda bummed around so I didn't watch what I ate too closely. I figured that four days of "Oops, went over again by eating crisps" would probably get boring. I'll post another tonight though, even if I don't have any healthy food in so it was a completely mismatched day for meals. XD

I wish I had the cooking utensils to make my own bread. Being at uni has it's disadvantages...

    I hope so too!
